I was excited when I saw this galaxy S and thought it will eliminate the monopoly that itune wants to create. I am very surprised not to be able to connect it to my PC. I have downloaded the kies but it doesn’t seem to work.

I have install samsung kies to my PC, but its can;’t connect to my samsung galaxy s

I bought my Galaxy S in August 2010 and have been bugging Samsung about their Kies soft. I called them 3-4 times and every time “we are working to fix the problem. Download soft again in 1-2 weeks”. It is frustrating.

Same problem here; nothing works. This is ABSOLUTELY the worst purchase ever. NEVER buy a samsung galaxy. I have been at it for months, Got external professional help. All to no avail. The only use is using it as a hammer to release my frustration. If Samsung would have a real money back gurantee, i would have my money back

i got the galaxy last week and tried to pass music and pictures from my pc.
the galaxy is not recognized by the computer.
why does not a disc comes with the samsung in order to install it?
what driver shall i download?

had my galaxy s i9000 for 10 months had intermittent connection problems with kies 1.5.1 but now with this piece of crap new kies it dont even recognise that there is a phone connected. starting to get very angry with samsung as its a £500 fone. is there anyone that can help with this issue or know where i can get the old version of kies? email is clubgenius284932@googlemail.com

Got mine connected in 2 mins – go to wireless & network click on USB settings
Click mass media storage or ask everytime
connect & disconnect a coupe of times and it finds it automatically
and it finds both internal & external sd cards “E & I” disk drives

To Everyone on here with samsung issue (I currrently have i-9000):

I can only vouch for what has worked for me, I’ve tried everything from re-installing to trying to find the device driver online…. I’ve found that windows 7, doesn’t like the driver that comes with the Kies software, so follow these steps and let me know how it worked for you.
1. Leave the Samsung phone plugged in with the Kies program open, saying connecting (or at least what I had showing)
2. Go to start
3. Control Panel
4. Device Manager
5. Click the Arrow for “Portable Devices”
6. Right Click and Update Driver Software
7. Allow Windows 7 to find update via Internet
8. Let it does its thing installing new driver
9. Close Everything, Open Kies and device found

Again I can only explain that this is what worked for me.

you can connect to PC without Samsung KIES !

you need to do this: Settings > Applications > Development and turn on USB debugging.

now you will need the drivers and you will find the drivers here: http://ynos.ro/drivers/samsung/

I’ve just bought a Samsung galaxy s and sometimes I don’t recieve phone calls or messages. The phone doesn’t ring and the screen doesn’t light up. I’ve got to keep checking the phone to see if someone has tried to phone or text me. I’ve taken the phone back to the shop twice and just like sods law it’s works in the shop. How can I over come this problem
